The Cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento are analyzing the feasibility of a Sacramento River crossing to provide greater connectivity between the two cities and to reduce traffic congestion. A consultant was hired to assess several possible bridge locations from the confluence of the American River to Freeport Bridge in the South, including a location at Broadway. The GBP participated in stakeholder meetings beginning in April 2010, through December 2010, and continues to work with the City this year regarding the preferred location and type of bridge.
